As it turns out, I think I finished 11/15 with one or two surprises.
Here's the list (I placed the ones I missed in bold):
“All In: The Fight for Democracy”
“Boys State”
“Collective”
“Crip Camp”
“Dick Johnson Is Dead”
“Gunda”
“MLK/FBI”
“The Mole Agent”
“My Octopus Teacher”
“Notturno”
“The Painter and the Thief”
“76 Days”
“Time”
“The Truffle Hunters”
“Welcome to Chechnya”
Gunda---This documentary takes a look at the day to day life of a pig, two cows and a one-legged chicken in black and white.
MLK/FBI---This documentary explores the the surveillance and harassment of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. by the FBI revealed by declassified documents from the US government.
My Octopus Teacher---An unusual friendship develops between a filmmaker and an octopus who lives in a kelp forest off the coast of South Africa.
Notturno---This documentary spans three years on the borders of Iraq, Kurdistan, Syria and Lebanon to capture life in the aftermath of tyranny, invasions and terrorism.
If I had to pick now which five made the cut:
Collective
Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution
The Painter and the Thief
Time
Welcome to Chechnya
